Taylor's Maid-Rite

I genuinely cannot think of a similar dining experience anywhere else. Very good tasting loose ground beef...delicious malts and friendly and quick service even when busy. Worth the price and all served in a very unique early 20th century dinner like atomsphere.

Good maid-rites, poor, unfriendly service. Waiter was more interested in eating himself than waiting on us. After he was done eating, he sat around talking to other employees. Had to flag done another waitress to pay, since it was clear our waiter wasn't interested in refilling our drinks or getting us another maid-rite (which we wanted).

Just good food and good people. They know what they're good at and stick to it. Simple menu, delicious and fast.

I visited about a year or so before posting this. The meat is pretty good quality. Up to personal opinion if you like it all crumbled instead of in a patty. This location is pretty short on options though. Only burgers and milkshakes.

Maid-Rite in Marshalltown is the best around in flavour! Service is great - they can handle a lot of people well.

It's always good. Been going since I was a little kid. Still enjoy it. Quick and easy, in and out.

Love shopping here, good quality clothes, lots of Nick nacks and sports team. Always a fun place to browse when I come to town

If your not from Iowa, you need to check this out! Simple, fast, and good food. The atmosphere is charming and the maid-rite sandwiches were great.

I’ve been going to this most authentic Maid-Rite ever since I was born. Why the spoon? To pick up every little delicious morsel beef. Malts and chips are also delish.

The one and only place to have steamed healthy beef!! Delicious, simple, eclectic dining. I wish this was a good chain!

Since 1928 this little gem has been serving a unique loose meat sandwhich. Steamed ground beef with mustard and pickle on a hamburger bun paired with a milkshake of your favorite flavor. You order it wet or dry. This is either with the juice of the burger meat or strained, meaning dry.It's terrific and very filling. There is counter space for seating. Enjoy!

Food was good, customer service was great, wished they had French fries and cheddar cheese though. Still a great lunch! Would stop in again if I happen to be in Marshalltown again.

You think loose ground beef, what’s the big deal. Big deal is the taste and the fact that all the fat is not cooked away. Great sandwich and shakes/malts. Let your waitress “ pour” the shake into the small glass; you will have it all over the counter. Friendly, fun staff, enjoy. Taylors you NEED a store in Cleveland,,, wish you could serve a beer with the sandwich.

Delicious and a fun atmosphere. One of the local favorites I've been told. The milkshakes are delicious. I tried the peanut butter and the butterscotch. The maid-rites are easy and tasty. A little different than your typical fast food joints.

I remember a much cheaper maid rite growing up, but happy to see it is still there and delicious as ever. Staff are very fast and very friendly.

Simply awesome. My fav spot to take friends that are visiting Marshalltown. Everyone’s unanimous in positive feedback when they try it for the first time. Besides the delicious food, the 50’s vibe makes the Maid-Rite experience even better.

Super fast simple food. It was good but thing I couldn't do at home. But it's the atmosphere of being in a classic diner that makes it worth it. It's worth going for the feeling. The food is good but it's a loose meat sandwich. Try it out.
